What will you be doing?

No two days will look the same in this fast paced and varied role.

As an Engagement Coordinator, you will build relationships with key stakeholder groups to support and facilitate the promotion of LiveWell Dorset within local communities and across the integrated care system. You will identify and attend appropriate events, representing the service in a professional and confident manner aiming to enhance service usage by target groups and under-represented populations. This is a hugely important role, raising awareness of and access into the unique LiveWell Dorset service and helping people to take their first step to a happier, healthier lifestyle. You will also be expected to provide evidence-based guidance in the areas of weight management, alcohol intake, smoking and physical activity (training can be provided).

As a member of a Training & Engagement team you will provide support to the Training & Engagement Officer role with administration of queries and event booking. Will monitor community engagement activities, contribute to evaluations and liaise with other LiveWell Dorset teams to make sure we reach the people who are need our help the most.

About you

We are looking for a confident communicator with a can-do attitude to play a pivotal role in our mission to help people live healthier lives.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong understanding of community dynamics, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  

A good understanding of heath inequalities, an interest in health & wellbeing and an empathetic nature is also essential.

You may be looking for your first role since leaving education, looking for a stepping stone into Public Health or wanting to find a role that really changes people’s lives – we are happy to train the right person and there will be opportunities to progress.

LiveWell Dorset is a key part of the local authority aim to improve the health of local people. The service has attracted national attention as a novel and innovative approach to helping people change their behaviours and live healthier lives.

We work in partnership with Dorset Council, the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and numerous other organisations.

Must hold a valid driver’s license as there will be extensive travel across Dorset.
