As a Senior Service Support Officer, you'll be at the centre of the team, providing high-quality business support, helping colleagues work effectively, and identifying opportunities to improve the way we do things. No two days are the same, and you'll have the chance to build strong working relationships with a wide range of people both within and outside the Council.

- supporting and supervising Service Support Officers, helping to create a positive and supportive team environment
- maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information appropriately
- supporting service improvement initiatives and developing efficient ways of working
- collating information, producing reports and supporting data management activities
- assisting with projects and ensuring actions are progressed and completed
- working collaboratively with colleagues to provide excellent customer service and achieve positive outcomes for Dorset residents
About you
We're looking for someone who brings energy, initiative and a positive approach to their work.
You will have:
- significant administrative experience in a busy environment
- excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- strong ICT skills and confidence using a range of digital systems and applications
- experience of supporting or supervising colleagues, or the ability to demonstrate leadership potential
- excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- the ability to work independently, use initiative and solve problems
- strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work
- the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information professionally
- a flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to embrace change and continuous improvement
Why join us?

- flexible and hybrid working opportunities where service needs allow
- a supportive and inclusive working environment
- opportunities for training, development and career progression
- the opportunity to help shape and influence a developing service
- a varied role where your contribution genuinely makes a difference
- access to Dorset Council's employee benefits package
