About the role

Cranborne Middle School is a successful middle school, located in a beautiful rural part of Dorset. We have a good standing within the local community and have a dedicated and high achieving staff, as well as hard working and well-behaved children.

We currently have a vacancy in school for a part time (0.6) ICT Systems Lead . The type of contract is negotiable, with the choice being either: 52 week contract with 5 weeks annual leave (to be taken out of term-time), working 23 hours per week. Or a term-time contract (39 weeks) paid over 52 weeks working 23 hours per week (pro-rata).

As part of the school support workforce, you will work on site providing technical support and advice to students and teaching staff.  Day-to-day, you will perform routine IT tasks ensuring the ongoing integrity and availability of the network contributing to the smooth running of the school day. You may also be required to join other support and teaching staff in the supervision of pupils at break and/or lunchtimes as a valued member of the school community.

As well as maintaining the internal school infrastructure, the role involves updating and maintaining the school’s website. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to identify, lead, and support innovation and project activities with the aim of supporting service improvement, organisational strategy and agreed technology roadmaps.

Cranborne Middle School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with the Government’s safer recruitment guidelines.

Every day is different, and whether you are looking for a new and exciting challenge, keen for a job allowing a little more flexibility around working days, or the chance to work in a different environment to your normal role, this could be the job for you.

We look forward to receiving your application.

Closing date for applications: Tuesday 1st September 2026.
Interviews will be held week beginning Monday 7th September 2026.
