Due to continued growth within the Media Department, Coastland College is seeking to appoint a full-time Media Technician to support our expanding Further Education provision, ranging from Level 1 through to degree level courses.
We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our high-performing Media team. The successful candidate will provide technical support for learning, delivering technical instruction, skills-based training and demonstrations to students.
Key responsibilities include setting up, operating and maintaining a wide range of media equipment; preparing studios, editing suites and specialist classrooms; and ensuring all media, AV and IT equipment is safe and fully operational. You will manage booking systems, maintain accurate inventory records, order equipment and consumables, and support college events, exhibitions and open days.
The post holder will support, instruct and guide students in areas such as camera operation, lighting, sound and post-production software, continually reviewing and improving practice in response to feedback. You will also oversee departmental housekeeping, manage equipment distribution, and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, including the instruction and approval of risk assessments for student projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving and forward-thinking department.
