About the role

We are currently looking to recruit dynamic, experienced social workers for our Adult Social Care teams across Dorset.

We have the following vacancies:

  • East Locality Team, based in Ferndown
  • Peripatetic team based across Dorset
  • Weymouth and Portland Locality Team, based in Weymouth
  • Hospital Discharge (Home First), based in Dorchester
  • Learning Disability teams in Bridport, Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland.
  • Community Mental Health teams based in Blandford, Sherborne and Weymouth

What you can expect to be doing:

You will be undertaking strengths-based assessments, support planning and reviews to support customers to achieve their outcomes and promote their independence.

You will be working as part of a busy team and alongside other teams within the local authority.

Multi-disciplinary practice will be integral to the role. 

About you:

You will be a dynamic social worker with a strong value base and sense of person-centred practice.  Our ethos revolves around bolstering support, fostering a culture of learning, nurturing development, and nurturing well-being throughout our entire workforce through a strengths-based approach.

You will have excellent communication skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have a flexible approach and be able to work closely with a range of professionals.

You will be creative and passionate about enabling people to be as independent as possible.

You will need to be confident with the legal basis for practice and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 2007, Human Rights Act 1998 and Equality Act 2010.
